When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. When you use the service, we collect usage data including room creation events, device types, and sync performance metrics. We do not collect or store the content of videos you watch.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Watch in Sync service, authenticate your account, manage room sessions, and communicate service updates. Sync performance data is used in aggregate to improve our algorithms.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers who assist in operating our service (hosting, analytics) under strict data processing agreements. We may disclose information if required by law.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Authentication tokens are stored securely and expire automatically. Room data is ephemeral and deleted when rooms close.

5. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can delete your account through the app settings, which removes all associated data.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to manage room sessions. We also use third-party analytics — Google Analytics (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity — which set cookies and collect aggregate usage data (page views, sessions, device type, and general interaction patterns) so we can understand how the service is used and improve it. We do not use this data to sell your information or for cross-site advertising.

You can opt out of analytics cookies through your browser’s cookie controls or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
